Another Perspective on Meditation
There are plenty of ways to meditate.
What do you think of when you think of meditation? Sitting in silence, cross legged, on the ground for a long time?
While this may work for some people, there are lots of other ways you can meditate and practice mindfulness while being present. Below are some examples:
-Walking (paying attention to sounds, smells, sights around you)
-Listening to Music (listening closely to the instruments, chord progressions)
-Drinking your tea or beverage slowly and mindfully (tuning into the flavors)
-Writing (write a sentence and mediate on the words you used)
-Stretching (focus on your breathing and sensations running throughout your body)
-Reading (pay attention to how the author uses words to convey a message)
So the next time you’re thinking about meditating, experiment with the above and see which one works for you.
